You can do a few things to locate the record: Write for a copy of her
application for a Social Security number - - - (sample of her own handwriting!,
plus it includes HER statements of birthdate, parents, etc -- not dependent on
others' information)

Write to the Pennsylvania Dept of Vital Statistics and ask for a copy of her
birth certificate - - - a search if necessary. Here again, a more accurate
source of information than statements given to the census taker.
