Dear Group,

I'm the last person to pass on virus scares but I received an
email from a
member of the staff at Buffalo State College and I've checked it
out as
thoroughly as possible. This is what it said:

This one came from our own people here on campus, so I know it
is not a
hoax. Everyone have a safe and happy holiday season and a
banner new
year.

Subject: Virus Warning - From Computing Services

There is a new virus out that masquerades as a multi-media
Christmas card.
It is spread via email and has the following characteristics:

****************************************
Subject: Happy New Year
Message Text: Hii , I can't describe my feelings But all I can
say is
Happy
new year :-) bye
Attachment: Christmas.exe
*****************************************

If you get such a message, just delete it. Opening the email
itself and
reading the message will cause no harm; you have to execute the
attachment
in order for the virus to run.

Thank you.
