Norma, I sure would think
that cayenne pepper would deter them, it does me! Though I have tried it,
do enjoy the spicy flavors, perhaps they would too! Grin! Like
you said "change in diet, or taste! Cathy

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions and website! Much
appreciate. I called

my hair dresser and she laughed but said she would save me the hair
clippings

from tomorrow and I can stop and get them on my way home from work.

I even have 2 dogs, a yippee beagle and a black lab in a kennel off the
side of

the house and the deer taunt them. Now I love looking at them
off in the field

and watching them gracefully run - but not to my tulip
patches! You would think

that with the mild winter we had, there would be enough tender shoots
everywhere

- but I guess like you and I, they like a change in their salads.

Tulipless Norma - where it is snowin, blowin, and freezing in central
NY! Major

temperature drop in less than an hour. It was 45 at 5 and by
5:30 it was 20.

Too cold and nasty to see the thermometer.

Poor Norma with the deer eating her tulips! I have deer in
my yard and they

do tend to nibble the roses but I have a big yard and there's plenty
for

everyone; I have rabbits and I intentionally leave the alfalfa out so
the

deer can nibble that instead of my flowers! You might think
it would attract

a whole herd of deer but, no; I have two dogs, and while the deer just
hop

over the fence and stand there and look at the dogs (a Schnauzer and a
Corgi

are not going to kill the deer...maybe just annoy them to
death!:-) So it

works for me....

Do you live near a zoo or wildlife refuge Norma? My brother
gets lion poo

from the zoo and it keeps ALL varmints out of his yard (and it's

free!)....I've heard that spreading blood meal can work too.....maybe
you

could just plant a zillion tulips so there would be enough for
everyone?

Good luck tulip girl!
