I agree that Scouting should not receive public funds. When I was a child,
I was denied membership in Scouting because my mother was unable to
participate. At that time she was in a mental hospital. I cannot imagine
anyone more in need of the benefits of the Scouting creed than myself. Yes,
I realize that particular group were "*()*)*#)s, but it did hurt me. I
would imagine there are still such folk around who should not be permitted
to have such power. Until controls are found, let the Scouts fund
themselves.
I also do not appreciate having to read political ploys on a genealogy list.
