The photos of the drawn bonnets are all silk. Some of them do change color depending on just how the light hits them.

Judy, you are correct. It does depend on religion as to what some of the ladies wore on their heads. I have pictures of some of my relatives who had religious caps on their heads as well. We haven`t had any classes about those caps yet. Hopefully we will in the future.

I will be posting photos of more commonly worn bonnets on that web site as soon as I get caught up with some sewing orders that I have to finish before Christmas.
