A few years ago we tried one of those corn on the cob feeders for the squirrels. We thought this would keep them from our birdfeeders. It didn't work. In fact, one squirrel would take the whole corn on the cob and run away with it. :-)

Count me among the nuts that feed the squirrels. I buy something special for
them called "Critter Crunch" that I put out on this old stump near the woods
behind my house. However, they have figured out how to climb up onto my deck
to eat the birdseed, as well!

It's interesting to watch a squirrel and a blue jay duke it out--they're both
pretty mean when supper is involved. As far as birds go, I get mainly jays,
cardinals, about three species of sparrows, nuthatches and chickadees.
