joyce's mother always made suet pudding for the christmas dinner. over
the years
her recipe was never written down, so we don't have it to share,
however, joyce found this recipe in the mennonite community cookbook,
that sounds similiar...

1 cup of ground suet
1 cup of molasses
1 cup of boiling water
3 & 1/2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon of soda
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of cloves
1/2 cup of raisins

combine ground suet, boiling water and
molasses.
sift flour and measure.
sift flour, soda, and spices together, & add to mixture.
beat until thoroughly mixed.
dust raisins with flour, and blend into mixture.
pour into a greased pan or mold, with cover and steam for 2 hours.
-----
(joyce's mother always put hers in a clean muslin bag and boiled it for
1-2 hours)
