Surname: Smith, Martin

My ancestor Martin Smith was born in Pennsylvania in 1776. He migrated
to Ohio approx. 1813. I think I must have relatives in Pa. as they all
had large families. I think he migrated from Northumberland County as his
neighbors in Ohio have relatives there. I find no land records or wills
in Northumberland Co. Where would they have migrated from in Pennsylvania
if married and leaving home? If they went to Northumberland from another
place? They are of German descent.
