You are welcome! I just received an email form another researcher, Phil Knox, attached to the MERKEL lines and he told me that there are also a few books on MERKEL: The first, which is often referred to by Markle researchers, is: "The Merkel, Merkle, Markle, Markel Freündschaft", a Markle family history by Norton W. Merkel. The book is on microfilm and can be ordered and viewed at LDS Family History Centers. One person who does have a copy of the entire document is Scott Markle at <>. He also said that another is "The Journals of Josiah V. Thompson", which is actually a series of about 20 hand written journals written much like a dairy over a period of approx 1900-1920 and consists of dated notes in considerable detail of Mr. Thompson's many searches, inquiries, and interviews looking into his family history. The Markle family is very much prominent in this work and that copies of the various J.V. Thompson journals are in the possession of Charlee Wil!
son, who has been typing them up and posting them on-line (for viewing or downloading) at a web site on MyFamilyCom. One must be invited to join this "My FamilyCom" group. He felt very sure that if you are connected to the Markle family in any way you would be made very welcome and suggested you contact Charlee and express interest in joining the group. Charlee Wilson <>. There is also Phil Knox's ownfile at Roots Web WorldConnect: http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=pknox Just go to his index of names and keyin who you are looking for. Good luck!Diana in AL at (A KERST descendent)
