In my wife's Church Of The Brethren line I have the wife of Peter Henry
Wissler,
Catherina Brown b. 14 AUG 1816, Lancaster PA d. 19 JUN 1891 Henry County
IN. Buried Locust Grove COB Near Hagerstown IN.
Peter H. is my wife's gg-grandfather through his son Peter B. (probably
Brown) Wissler
(one of about 10 children). I have been to Catherina's grave several times.
I have The Wissler line from there to present and quite a few from Peter
H. Wissler on back beyond to about 1600 but can not find parents for
Catherina Brown.
She was living with her son (Peter B.) in Henry County IN at the time of
the 1880 census. Her husband (Peter H.) had died in 1859. According to
census information both of her parents were born in PA. In the census her
name is Catherine but tree information from the family has it as Catherina.
I can't recall what it says on her grave marker. I have trouble recalling a
lot of things these days... ;-)
Anybody know this Brown family? Only a few zillion Browns out there.
