Obituaries: Robert "Red' F. Bobenrieth, 88, of 957 Fern Road died Tuesday, March 5 at Hamot Medical Center, Erie following a lengthy illness. He was born August 24 1913 in St. Marys, son of the late Anthony F. and Catherine Portzer Bobenrieth. On June 18, 1964 in Queen of the World Church, he married Mary Ann Hoffman Reed, who preceded him in death May 11, 1991. Mr. Bobenrieth served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from Benzinger Township where he had worked with the road crew for many years. He was a member of Queen of the World Church and an avid hunter. He is survived by a daughter, Ann (Mrs. Ronald) Myers of Penfield; two sons, Donald Bobenrieth and his wife, Susan, and Mac Reed and his wife, Janet, both of St. Marys; five grandchildren; two brothers, Anthony and Marinus Bobenrieth, both of St. Marys. Bobenrieth will be celebrated at Queen of the World Church Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Military rites will be conducted by the St. Marys Servicemen's Detail. Burial will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home tonight from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. -
Rose M. "Honey" Hooper, 86, of 333 North St. Marys Street died Monday, March 4 at Elk Regional Health Center following a brief illness. She was born July 13, 1915 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Martin and Bertha Erich Fritz. On October 10, 1942 in St. Marys Church, she married Henry T. "Heinie" Hooper, who preceded her in death November 11, 1971. Mrs. Hooper was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1933. She was a former employee of Stackpole Corporation, and was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen (Mrs. Joseph) McMackin of St. Marys; two sons, Thomas H. Hooper and his wife, Ann, and Eugene F. Hooper and his wife, Yvonne, all of St. Marys; a sister, Edna Brock of St. Marys; six grandchildren, Tim Hooper, Angela Gorman, Patrick Hooper, Jeff McMackin, Matthew Hooper, Kelly McMackin; and five great grandchildren. Carol A. Hoffman, 66, of 370 Walnut Street died Tuesday, March 5 at her residence following a Lengthy illness. She was born January 7, 1936 in St. Marys, daughter of the late George L. and Dorothy Mons Wolfel. Mrs. Hoffman graduated from St. Marys High School. She retired from Pure Carbon where she had worked for over 22 years. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Legion Auxiliary and the Moose Auxiliary. On August 20, 1955 in sacred Heart Church, she married William Hoffman, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Denise (Mrs. Kevin) Dietz; two sons, Daniel Hoffman and his wife, Ruthie, and Robert Hoffman and his fiancée, Ann Tucker, all of St. Marys; three granddaughters, Danielle Hoffman, and Krista and Kelly Dietz. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Jeannie Hauber. A Mass of Christian Burial for Carol A. Jessica D. Custer, 42, of 139 Gypsy Road died Tuesday, March 5 at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh following a lengthy illness. She was born October 15, 1959 in Painsville, OH, daughter of the late Charles and Mildred Biggs. She is survived by two daughters, Tonya Custer of St. Marys and Jessica Ash of Williamsport; a son, Kyle Custer of Bradford; three grandchildren, Devyn Custer, Austin Ash and Ravin Hill; a sister, Sue (Mrs. Daniel) Short of Midland; and a friend, David Blessel of St. Marys. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, in infancy. There will be no visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service for Jessica D. Custer at the St. Marys Protestant Cemetery, Washington Street, St. Marys on Thursday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. William Milligan, pastor of Shiloh Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Marys Protestant Cemetery. The Lynch-Green Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

Weddings/Engagements: Claire Margaret Kamp, daughter of Edward and Marilyn Kamp of Golden Eagle, Illinois, and Aaron David Dush, son of David and Shelley Dush of Ridgway, were united in the sacrament of Holy Matrimony in a beautiful fall ceremony held at Saint Marys Catholic Church in Brussels, Illinois. Fr. Britto Berchmans, a friend of the couple, was the celebrant of the ceremony. The choir consisted of a group of the couple's friends, and was directed by their friend, Becky Moore. The bride chose her sisters, Erica, Audra, and Courtney Kamp, as the maids of honor. The grooms sister, Becky Dush and the brides friends, Jennifer Vito and Kate Padilia, were the bridesmaids. The bride's cousins, Cassandra Foster and Cassidy Aderton, and a friend, Amber Thompson, were the flower girls. The groom chose his friend, Matthew Curran, as the best man. His friends, Brian Weisner, Mark Weisner, Mathias Meier, Timothy Newman, and Thomas Myers, were the groomsmen. The groom's friends!

A rehearsal dinner was held at Kinder's Restaurant on the Mississippi River in Golden Eagle, IL. The wedding reception was held at the Apple Shed in Batchtown, IL. Guests attended the ceremony from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Missouri, North Carolina, Maryland, Washington D. C., Virginia, Tennessee, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Connecticut, and Georgia. A special celebration was also held in honor of the couple two weeks after their Illinois wedding at St. Joseph Monastery, St. Marys. Fr. Fred Burnes, a friend of the couple, was the celebrant of the Mass. A reception was held at Edgewood and guests from Pennsylvania, Illinois, and New Jersey attended. The bride is a 1995 graduate of Brussels High School in Brussels, IL. She graduated in 1999 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where sh!
e obtained her bachelors degree in human development and family studies. She received her master's degree in human development and family studies from the Pennsylvania State University in 2002. She is currently working toward her doctorate degree in the same field at Penn State. The groom is a 1994 graduate of Elk County Christian High School. He graduated in 2000 from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, where he obtained his doctorate of pharmacy degree. He is currently employed as a pharmacist at Centre Community Hospital in State College. The couple currently make their home in Bellefonte, PA.
The engagement and upcoming marriage of Jackie E. Coscia and Kenneth L. Horm is being announced by their parents. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Rodney and Vicky Coscia of Conneaut Lake, PA. She earned an associate degree in architectural technology at Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport. She is employed in accounts payable at Covelli Enterprises, Warren, Ohio. Her fiancé is the son of Kenneth and Linda Horm of Bristolville, Ohio, and grandson of the late George and Peggy Krug of St. Marys. He is a firefighter with the City of Warren, graduated from the University of Akron with an associate degree of applied sciences in fire protection technology. The couple will be married during a ceremony to take place October 12, 2002 at St. William Catholic Church in Warren. Invitations will be issued for the ceremony and reception to be held at Candlelite Knolls in Bazetta, Ohio.
