Claridge:

Jarecki Mfg. Co., 1866-1924
"The Henry Jarecki Co. which evolved into the Jarecki Mfg. Co. was started
in a small store front on State St. in 1852. The original machinery
consisted of one foot lathe. It was the discovery of oil in 1859 that
propelled the small concern into the forefront of the city's manufacturing
concerns and, indeed, the country as a whole. Being the nearest plant to
the oil region that made brass fittings, the firm was simply deluged with
orders for plumbers' and steamfitters' supplies of all kinds. THe
cmopany's operations were moved to a large new building at the corner of
Ninth and Holland streets in 1866. It was further expanded into an iron
foundry on the south side of 12th Street between Chestnut and Walnut
twenty years later."

Hope this helps!
