Google did not turn up an obit for Dr. Williams (although I did find his
curriculum vitae, the equivalent of a resume in the academic world).
However, you might find the article at this website interesting:
http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~glenntunneycolumn/column46.htm
Dr. Williams (Ted) described his experiences driving a truck for the
Marianna, PA Lumber Yard.
Also, a search at the SSDI (Social Security Death Index) turned up 6 entries
for Theodore P. Williams, one of whom died May 2, 2003 in Tallahassee, FL
and had SS number issued in PA. If you go to SSDI
http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/, there is a link where you can order a
copy of his "record" but I'm not sure whether it would be his SS application
or his death record.
BTW, vitalrec.com http://www.vitalrec.com/ offers "one-stop shopping" for
ordering various vital records; you select state & type of record, and off
you go!
