Gary,
I downloaded the StuffIt Expander and processed the file through it. My
processing was to click on the attachment and then save it to disk, the
destination on my disk was my desktop. I then opened my desktop and dragged
the file onto the Expander icon on the desktop. After the expander
processed it, it reappeared on the desktop in a folder titled Gaddis_P.GED,
with the file inside of it. It changed the file name from Gaddis_P.GED.Sit
to Gaddis_P.GED, which I assume made a successful decompression. I changed
the name to Gaddis-Price.GED, which makes the family and source more
recognizable and moved it into My Documents folder. Then tried to import it
into a blank PAF4 file. Didn't work. I got the following errors on the log
report:

GEDCOM Import Log - 07 Sep 2001

File: C:\My Documents\Genealogy
Documents\Gedcoms-Incoming\Gaddis-Price.G00
Created by:
Submitted by: <UNKNOWN>
Individuals: 0
Marriages: 0
Sources: 0
Repositories: 0
Errors: 272

The following lines in the GEDCOM file could not be processed due to
unrecognizable tags or invalid data:

ERROR 1: Gaddis-Price.GED, line 6: Missing delimiter.

ERROR 7: Gaddis-Price.GED, line 92: Skipped unassociated CONT/CONC lines.

ERROR 272: Gaddis-Price.GED, line 2413: Unexpected tag 'EOF' in Top Level
Record.

0 EOF

Note the change of the file name extension from .GED to .G00. I don't know
or understand the significance of this or it's effect.

Of the total of 272 errors listed, the one listed above as #272 showed up
only once. The one listed as #7 showed up a total of 36 times. All other
errors were the same as the one listed as #1.

Can you tell me the signifcance of these errors and what they should tell me
about the gedcom file I was working with? Were these something that
occurred when it was built on the Mac computer and copied to a PC formatted
disk, before attaching it to the e-mail that I received? Or is it something
that happened while my machine was processing it?

Your, or anyone's, help is appreciated.
