The form of a citation varies from style
manual to style manual. The book "Electronic
Style: a guide to citing electronic information"
suggests adding "available" at the end of the
citation and indicating the source or location
of the information. For example:

U.S. Census, 1880: Michigan, Oakland Co.,
White Lake Twp. ED 275, page 455A.
Available: Ancestry.com [or http://, e-mail address
with name & date received, etc.]

My personal preference is to include all of the
known info because I never know when I'm
going to need it and I would rather have have
to much than not enough. This is a sample of
one of mine for which I just happened to have
the film numbers even though I obtained the
image through Ancestry.com.

U.S. Census, 1880: Michigan, Oakland Co.,
White Lake Twp. ED 275, page 455A, lines 11-17.
Available: Ancestry.com image #17, FHL Film
1254599, National Archives Film T9-0599.

I include the ancestry image number because I once
went back to take another look at a page and had
to search through a few pages before I found it.
The line numbers help when the writing is difficult
to read.

Whatever style you use the key is that it makes
sense to you and that you use it consistently.
