As far as PDF is concerned Easy Office which is free can create PDF files.

The Gedcom question is answered by

Q. Can I import a GEDCOM file created in Personal Ancestral File 4 or PAF 5
to Macintosh?
A. Yes, as long as when you export it from Personal Ancestral File you
select GEDCOM 4.0
(PAF 2.1–2.31) as the Export Type.

PAF 2.31 for MAC is still available.

PAF 4 & PAF 5 will run on a MAC with Windwos Emulation.

Steve, you can convert any report to PDF format simply by installing either
Adobe Acrobat or one of the many "clone" programs available. What the
"clones" do is act as another printer on your computer. Once they are
installed you just send the report to "pdf printer" rather than your normal
printer. The "clones" are considerably cheaper than Adobe - some are free!
And if you don't need the full features available in Adobe Acrobat they will
serve your needs well. Here is a selection to look at:
http://www.fineprint.com for pdfFACTORY - an excellent program but not free.
http://www.webxd.com/zipguy/frpdfdl.htm for FreePDF
http://www.pdf995.com/ for UltraPDF another free program

Adobe Acrobat will convert an RTF file so that it can be read. It then is
saved as a PDF file.

Second question - you can send a GEDCOM to your MAC user. He should be able
to open it if he has a genealogical program (Reunion would be about the only
one). The PAF MAC version is still available from Salt Lake City and is not
being developed any further. It is not available as a download, though. and
still at v.2+ (from memory).

List,
I have two questions.
First, is there anyway to convert the Modified Register printout in
RTF format to PDF? Or will Adobe open an RTF formatted file?
Second, how would I send a GEDCOM to a mac user so that he could
import it? Is there still a MAC version available of PAF? Is it
5.x equivalent?
2 questions? I never said that I could count.
