I had a pen-pal from Sweden, once. She had to write USA in my address
in order for it to get to me (of course); just as I had to write SWEDEN in
hers. Anyway, she asked me one what it was like to live in Australia . . .
I wonder why she thought I lived there? (USA is obviously United States
of America <grin>!!)
In response to Richard H. & Gary T. (i.e. Another consideration): Two-letter
state abbreviations wouldn't be so hard to decipher if capital letters were
used -- much like the post office has been recommending for 10 or so
years!! <smile> Trying to figure out what census enumerators meant, on
the other hand, is where many of us get into trouble!!
