Margaret;
Your question has rather far reaching implications. First, I do noat think
that it is possible to change the label "Christening" to "Baptism" on the
Individual Edit screen. I think this would take a change in the code. Even
if you were able to do so, this would not change the label on any of the
reports. It would be necessary to change each one of them individually.
One possible solution, and I do not offer it as a 'good' one, would be to
create a personalized Template where you omit 'Christening' and include
'Baptism'. I do not think this would be acceptable because while it would
label those data as 'Baptism' on the reports, it would necessitate using the
LDS fields. Furthermore, the location field associated with 'Baptism' is
too small for many (most?) city, county, state, USA sequences.
Sorry, but I do not know of a better alternative.
Sincerely,
Richard L. Halliday

Is it possible to change the Event 'Christening' in the main events
section to read 'Baptism' instead? I know that Baptism can be added as
another event but as I use Baptism to cover both Christening events and
Baptisms I would like this to appear in the main events box.
I might add that I definitely do not wish to begin a debate about the
issue of which term is the correct one to use, this is merely a
technical question to find out if it is possible to what I wish to do.
Thanks,
Margaret North.
