Subject: Can't find my PAF COMPANION
Date: Mon, 3 Jan 2005 20:09:42 EST

I recently had a BIG problem with trying to install Norton Internet Security
2005 - to the point I couldn't even open my Internet Server, so I had to take
my computer to a repair store. They ended up installing Windows XP Pro from
ME, and now I have to learn a new operating system, (they never did get that
Norton to work either). I found PAF and it is working. However, I cannot find
Companion. I found an icon to it (showing the little arrow designating it is
a shortcut) and dragged it to my desktop, but when I click on the icon a
message pops up saying "Wrong string file. Looking for 20010213 1600, got 00."
Does anyone know what this means? I have my disk and tried to install Companion
at least three times, and still get that same message. It seems to go
through the installation with no problem.

I go from Start to Programs>Family Search and it shows PAF5; PAF Companion 5
(2); and another PAF Companion 5. When I click on any of these Companion
icons I get the above message "Wrong string.............."

Is there something else I need to do after installing Companion? Seems like
I remember something like that with PAF.

I hope someone can help me solve this problem. I'm really frustrated.

Thanks, Luella in So. California
