It depends on what you want to back up and how the size of the external disk
compares to your internal disk.

For example, if they are the same size, frankly you could just use the COPY
command and copy the whole thing. If you just want to back up PAF use PAF.
There are a number of free back programs that will back up files that have
changed or are new. What I personally prefer is Ghost. So I periodically
that a snap shot back up with Ghost. It is compressed and I can reload
individual files from it.

Subject: [PAF-5] back-up software

Could anyone recommend a good backup software? I bought a new external
drive to backup my genealogy records, but it didn't have any software with
it.
Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

Carole
