I tend to run check/repair 3 or 4 times rather than once. If the problem
remains, I export everything as a gedcom and import it into a new PAF file
with a new name. (After a backup, as Bill Davis mentioned.)


I ran check/repair about 5 or 6 times, and the error kept returning. I
finally did export everything and then import it again. It seems to be
working fine now.

I really needed to do an export anyway, as I wanted to clean the database up
a little, and this works.
