Subject: Tombstone inscription question
Date: Fri, 20 Nov 1998 19:36:37 -0600
On a recent visit to Fayette County I went to the Hill Grove Cemetery in
Connellsville, I found a tombstone that I believe belongs to a relative of
mine. The top stone says Clara B. Dieter 1885/1952-Donald W. "Skeezie"
Dieter 1922-1932, the bottom stone lays flat on the ground and read "In
Memory of Smith J. Dieter". Smith J. Dieter is the name of my gg
grandfather, my guncle and my gguncle. Why is this name on this tombstone?
How do I find out? Donald "Skeezie" Dieter has another tombstone in
another section, so it seems only Clara is buried here. Are there records
in Connellsville for the purchasers of these stones? I would appreciate
any help in this matter.
Thanks in advance,
Sabrina
