Is Fayette County near Rockingham County, VA? Are they contiguous? I have
found so many ancestors and the beginning on many of them is this county.
Was this county a "jumping off" place for early settlers? Ed, can you help
me?k
I've looked under VA & Rockingham but there is no historical information
that I can find. A lot of the ancestors came from VA, to PA, to Ohio,
ending up in IL & IA. And that makes sense. But why Rockingham County,
VA, Is there a port or
some way of landing there? Just wondering.
