Hi List,
I want to thank everyone that sent in information on the Bowman's, I will
keep everything so later on I might be able to fit them in.
I think I have found a connection from Jane McCann Walsh information, and
want to thank her, also wanted to tell her my last name is Hartman.
My Great-grandfather Jacob could possible fit into the Elies Bowman family in
Georges Twp, 1850 Census
Elias Bowman age 38, laborer with: Catharine, 36
John, 16
Jacob, 10
Sarah J., 8
Richard, 7
Nancy, 5
Catharine, 1
The age for Jacob would be right, and Jacob's brother Elies wasn't born until
April 22, 1859, and Catharine wouldn't have been to old yet to have children.
I do have Elias O. Bowman obituary and his wife's Anna, and Jacob's newspaper
article about him being found on the mountain, if anyone wants a copy E-mail
me.
Now I have another question, where is George's Twp and does anyone out there
have the 1860 Census for George's Twp with the Bowman's on it?
I was in Uniontown, PA Library, Pennsylvania Room, about two weeks ago,
that's where I got Elies and Anna Baer Bowman's obituaries, I only had time
for one day, but it was so great, so much information, I wanted to stay
there longer, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for information
on family history. I hope to get back there someday. One recomendation is
to make a list of all the surnames of the obituaries of the family that you
are researching, if you don't have time to look up everything. That way you
can get in contact with them later to get information, I didn't do this, now
I wish I had. The Curator is: Victoria Leonelli, 24 Jefferson Street,
Uniontown, PA 15401, Phone (724) 437-1165.
Had a great time in Fayette County, and Bruceton, WV, beauthful county and
nice people.
