I'm new to the Fayette County list and need help finding more information
about my ggrandmother, Nancy Harmon. She was born on August 1, 1854, either
in Hampshire County, VA or Fayette Co., PA. Her parents apparently died when
she was quite young and she was brought up by the Thomas Sessler family. She
named my grandfather Thomas Sessler Post in honor of that family. She
married Isaac Newton Post, and they were living in Fayette Co. in the 1880
census. My mother told me Nancy Harmon was a Presbyterian. Her obituary in
the May 15, 1930 Uniontown Morning Herald states that she lived on Bailey
Avenue at the time of her death and was a member of the Walnut Hill Church.
It does not give the denomination of that church, and the only Walnut Hill
Church I see in Fayette County is a United Methodist Church. Does anyone
know of a Walnut Hill Presbyterian Church that was active in 1930? Any help
would be appreciated.
