I did some civil war pension research for two Lynn brothers who were living
in Westmoreland Co. but born in Redstone Twp., Fayette Co. sons of William
H. Lynn and Elizabeth Chain. There were two affadavits in John Lynn's file.
16 Jan. 1897
William H. Lynn age 83 living in Washington Twp., Fayette Co., PA, father of
John Lynn the deceased soldier.

William King age 81 also living in Washington Twp., Fayette Co., Pa father
of Mary Jane King, the first wife of deceased soldier, John Lynn.

They both testified that John married Mary King in about 1861, she died
about 1865 leaving one child who died a few months after Mary and both are
buried in the Redstone Cemetery. A friend, Bella B. Smith, age 69 of
Rostraver Twp., Westmoreland Co. testified the child died Dec 8, 1866.
