Hi! Hadn't tried posting on the list for this family for awhile,
thought I'd try again. I'm looking for info. on the Shunks from
Brownsville Pa. I've found that George Shunk(my 4th gr. grandfather)
was the husband of Charlotte Ann(or Ann Charlotte) Reppert. Charlotte
was the daughter of George Reppert and Sarah Lantz. The whole Shunk
family was involved in glass making from what I have found. I have a
lot of info. on the descendents of these families if anyone is
interested. If anyone has any info. on any of this family or their
descendents, I would love to share info. This whole family moved in and
out of Fayette Pa for many years. Also interested in any Shunk that was
in the Fayette Pa area.
George Shunk and Charlotte had the following children:
1. Henry Shunk b. abt. 1835 married a Catherine FLEMMING (They had 6
children that I know of)
2.Sarah Shunk b. abt 1839 married a Granville (Gram)HIXENBAUGH.
Granville died between 1870 and 1880 at which time she relocated to New
York. They had 3 children.
3. George Shunk b. abt 1840(MY LINE) married first a Margery ? and had 1
child, then married Mary Agnes ARBOGAST they had 11 children, I can only
find records on 9.
4. Francis R. Shunk b. abt 1845 married Nancy ? and had 4 kids that I
know of.
5.Winfield S. Shunk b. abt 1849 married Sarah ? and had 3 children that
I'm aware of...his family went to Erie Co. Pa.
6. Anna Charlotte Shunk b. 3 June 1851 married Edward ENSELL and had
several kids. Atleast 3 of Edward's children were by her.
7. Caroline Shunk b. abt 1853 married a Charles TOYNBEE as of 1900
they had 4 kids.
8. Theodore Shunk b. abt 1856 no further info.
