Hi, Lynn,
Sharing this with the full list simply because it seems noteworthy!
There is a newspaper article about his death online via Ancestry.com, which
has an Indiana, PA newspaper in their system now, the Indiana Evening
Gazette!

Hiram Ringer was actually struck by a car in Indiana, PA. He was struck on
June 15, 1948 and died on July 1, 1948 in an Indiana Hospital. The story
says that the "aged man" had driven with his wife to Indiana where they
were searching for a funeral home. Mr. Ringer had parked his car and was
attempting to cross Wayne Avenue to seek directions to the funeral home
when he stepped from behind his car into the path of an oncoming car.

This article was published July 2, 1948 so there should be an obit in a
Connellsville paper for that day or the next. Perhaps with this
information someone else can locate the obit.

Regards,
Jane
