Catherine M. (Veltri) PALERMO, 96, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Monday evening, Nov. 12, 2001.

She was born Feb. 27, 1905, in Avigliano, Italy, the daughter of the late Gioviani Veltri and Carmella Coville Veltri.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marcello Palermo in 1976; her children, Rose Swanson on Nov. 3, 2001, Carmella Palermo and Andrew "Gus" Palermo; brothers and sisters, Mary Pace, Margaret Roman, Daniel Veltri and Nellie Zungri; and nieces, Emily DeConcilis and Nellie Pace; and a nephew, John Zungri.

She was a member of St. Therese Roman Catholic Church and its Altar Society.

Surviving are her loving grandchildren, Edward Palermo and wife, Donna of Uniontown, Dino Palermo of Adah, Pa., and Gary Palermo and wife, Robin of Uniontown, Pa.; great-grandchildren, Jason, Brian, David, Tyler, Anthony and Matthew; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Palermo; a brother-in-law, Sam Zungri; nieces, Marie Czrywus, Yolanda Konyuk, Marlene Swaney and patsy Zungri; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME, at 71 Pennsylvania Ave., Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Thursday until 8:30 a.m., when a blessing service will be held, followed by a 9 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial in St. Therese R.C. Church. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery. St. Therese Altar Society will recite the Rosary this ????
