Thelma S. (Simko) SIMON, 76, of Uniontown, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2001, in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.

She was born on August 10, 1925 in Perryopolis, Pa., a daughter of Andrew Simko and Rose Kranik Simko.

During World War II she served as a member of the Cadet Nurse Corps from 1944 to 1945.

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown.

Her husband, George C. Simon, died in 1988. Also deceased are a brother, Richard Simko, and her parents.

Surviving are two sons: George C. Simon II and his wife, Yvonne, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Christopher Scott Simon and his wife, Denise, of Farmington, Pa.; three beloved grandchildren: Kristen Sara Simon, Jason Matthew Simon and Shannon Nicole Simon; and a brother, Andrew Simko Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, of Uniontown, Pa.

Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES, INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 139 West Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, December 7, until 10 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Jefferson Street, with Rev. Fr. William J. Kiel as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
