Mrs. Elizabeth Duncan Chandler SHERRARD, 74, a resident of Heartfields in Stafford County, Virginia, died Thursday, October 18, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, Virginia.

She was born April 3, 1927, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, daughter of Charles Edwin Chandler Sr. and Elizabeth Duncan Gribble Chandler.

Her husband, Jacob H. Sherrard Jr., and her parents preceded her in death.

Both she and her late husband, Jacob H. Sherrard Jr., who was also born in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, were residents of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, from 1953 to 1981 where they were members of Westmont Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Sherrard taught kindergarten in Johnstown and was on the Board of the Children's Home.

Both were member of Sunnehanna County Club.

The Sherrards moved to Sea Pines Plantation at Hilton Head, South Carolina, where they were members of the St. Andrew by the Sea United Methodist Church and also Sea Pines Country Club.

Mrs. Sherrard was an avid golfer and tennis player.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Duncan Sherrard Turner of Fredericksburg, Virginia; a son, Jacob Henderson Sherrard III of Summerville, South Carolina; a brother, Charles Edwin Chandler Jr. of Hilton Head, South Carolina; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Duncan Phillips of Fredericksburg, Virginia.

A Memorial Service will be held for Mrs. Sherrard on Saturday, November 10, 2001, at St. Andrew by the Sea United Methodist Church, Hilton Head, South Carolina.
