Cliff,

I subscribe to the <<THOMPSON>> rootsweb list, and read with interest
#(5)--see below. My question about this John Lewis THOMPSON are the
*questionable* birth and death dates. "(1640-1726)". I am not doubting your
copying it the way you found it, but I am wondering how this man could have
fought in the Revolutionary War if he died in 1726. Has anyone on the list
ever had occasion to view/read the source that Cliff mentions--<<"Immigrant
Ancestors, a list of 2500 Immigrants to America before 1750" Edited by Fred.
Adams Virkus>> as to its authenticity and validity? I have Alexander THOMSON
b. 1722 Scotland, m. 1748 to an Elizabeth EDMONSTON/EDMISTON b. 1728 Scotland.
This couple later emigrated to Cumberland Co/Franklin Co circa 1770. A 14th
child born to James and Elizabeth, James b. 1772 Franklin Co>Pine Twp
Allegheny Co is my Gr-Gr-GF. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
