Barb - The ancestors did not cross the mountain, but the minister did! Rev.
Amos A. McGinley, was the Presbyterian minister of both the Upper and Lower
Path Valley Churchs, in addition he crossed the mountain on regular basis to
preach, marry and baptize. Many of the Walkers and all of the Crees in his
records lived near Burnt Cabins on the Fulton -Huntingdon county line. The
marriages that are on the genweb site actually include people from Horse
Valley, Path Valley, and the eastern part of Fulton County. When Upper
(Spring Run) and Lower (Fannettsburg) Path Valley Presbyterian churchs split
about 1851, the minister for Lower Path Valley still preached at Burnt
Cabins. In fact, he still does today. Rev. Ted Hale is the current
minister for both Fannettsburg and Burnt Cabins. In the published records
of Lower Path Valley, there are lists of members for Burnt Cabins. Can
check them for you if you like. Carolyn

my confusions about Blacklog Valley, but turned back on Sept. 11.
>1. According to a number of sources, Blacklog Valley was once called
"Horse Valley" (True?)
>2. Sources say Horse Valley is in Franklin Co; Blacklog Valley is in
Huntingdon Co. (Huh?)
>3. Blacklog Valley cited as being in Shirley Twp--that's Huntingdon Co
(Right?)
>4. Cree, Cluggage, and Gilliland ancestors from Blacklog Valley married in
Lower Path Valley Presbyterian Church--Franklin County (A certainty)
>5. If lofty Tuscaroras separate Huntingdon from Franklin, then I can't
believe these ancestors crossed those mountains to attend church in Franklin
Co. (Help!!!)
