A little off topic, but you can sell the FTM cd's on Amazon or Ebay. They have auctions all the time for them. They do go fast.

Carolyn, I wouldn't count on any help at all from Broderbund. They
apparently don't care two cents about their customers. I happen to be a
dedicated Mac user, and will never, ever willingly switch to any other kind
of computer. I originally bought FTM in good faith, and used and enjoyed it.
But eventually, more and more things came along that I couldn't use or open.
I found that while the version for Windows users was up to about 8 or 9, Mac
users were only up to the one I had, which is V.3.0.1. After trying to find
out when there would be an update for Macs, I finally received an email from
someone at B'bund. In it, he said that after "careful consideration", it had
been determined that it really "wasn't feasible" (read "profitable"!) for
them to develope a newer version for Mac. Period. I wound up having to buy
a new program, and re-enter all my info into it. And I'm stuck with the CD's
that I'd bought from Broderbund.
I wrote this gentleman back, and among other things, I told him that I would
NEVER buy another Broderbund product. And I never have. Wouldn't have 'em
in the house!
(As you can possibly tell, I am not a fan of that company!)
To top it off, I've found that AOL will have an update for Macs this summer,
and that will be the last one they do for us. (I currently have V. 5.0, the
most recent available for us.) Although these companies make us feel like
stepchildren, I really wouldn't give up my Mac if you offered me a brand new
whatever. Periodically I update and get a newer Mac, but that's the most
change I'll make. I've used other brands quite at bit (at work, etc.) but
there really is no comparison at all.
(No, I'm not an owner, employee, stock holder, or anything else, of Apple...I
just love my Mac!!)
