Folks

There was a 5 step process to purchase land from the State of
Pennsylvania

1st -- You applied for a warrant

2nd -- If no one else was applying for this same property, then most
likely you would have been issued the warrant.

3rd -- Once you had the warrant, this entitled you to have the property
surveyed.

The info I have been posting to the list is the results of these surveys
--

The survey listed the number of acres and the date of the survey. When
you order a copy of the survey it should show the outline of the
property along with the neighboring landowners.

To get title (ownership) of the land you need to proceed to step 4.

4th -- You apply for a patent at which time you submit the survey info.
The State then compares your survey info with the neighboring properties
to try to make sure there are no boundary problems with your neighbors.

5th -- The State of PA issues you a Patent for the property. You now
own this property and are free to sell it. When you do sell it, the
transaction will appear in the Franklin Co. deed books.
