Dear Chris,
My great, great grandfather Hugh Cowan (1767- 1826) had a cabinet shop in
Mercersburg, Franklin Co. Perhaps your John Hawk was an apprentice in
his shop.
I am looking for the parents of Hugh Cowan who married
1799 Polly Van Lear, daughter of Col. Joseph Van Lear and Mary Chambers.
