Thanks for your response. I am pretty well getting to the point of throwing
my cds up in the air and whichever one sticks to the ceiling, gets
researched.....that goes for surnames as well. :-)

The source is the Marriage Index: MD, NC, VA 1624-1907 cd by Broderbund.
Additional information is found on the disk that the information was
collected and compiled from original records at a courthouse. They represent
the dates of licenses sometimes rather than the date of marriage. Users are
cautioned to look for the original record so as to be sure their information
is accurate. :-) I think that advice pretty well covers anything we deal
with. It is also mentioned that some names are truncated (chopped off)
apparently inadvertantly.

The introduction says that in some cases the records may be found at your
local genealogy library on microfilm.
It was compiled by Dorothy Ledbetter Murray and Nicholas Russell Murry
Hunting for Bears, inc." Salt Lake City and David Murray, published 1955 and
1994.

Hope this is of assistance to those who want a more full source for the
information.
