According to a family bible, Jacob Traxler (1786-1871) married Elizabeth Cramer. Their children were Elizabeth 1810, Daniel 1812, George 1814, Cathrine 1816, Mary 1818, Isabella 1820, Jacob Reno 1822, Margaret 1824, Michael 1826, John Andrew 1818, and Amanda 1831. In the 1850 census this Jacob and his family are living in Southampton Twp, Franklin County (pg 184). This Jacob was baptized 1786, Shippensburg Lutheran and Reformed, son of Michael Traxler and Elizabeth Kraus according to the church records. Michael died 1818 in Huntingdon Co.
There is ANOTHER Jacob Traxler in the 1850 census of Southampton Twp, Cumberland Co, (pg 341), age 43. He moved to Henry Co, Iowa in 1853 where he died in 1871. According to the Henry County history, this Jacob also married an Elizabeth Cramer (1809-1872). Their children were Catherine 1827, John 1829, Jacob 1831, Mary 1835, Elizabeth 1837, Frances R 1840, George C 1842, Joseph 1846, and Grazella who died at age 9. In the 1850 census of PA and the 1854 census of Iowa, this Jacob is blind.
Who was the father of the second Jacob? Was he a nephew of Jacob of Franklin?
Who were the parents of the 2 Elizabeth Kramer/Cramers?
