Date: Fri, 8 May 1998 06:19:09 EDT

The Fulton Democrat March 8, 1900

Sipes
Oliver E. Sipes died Wednesday morning February 28, 1900, at his home near
Housum, Franklin County, of consumption. He was about fifty-five years old.
He was the oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. T. Riley Sipes, of Licking Creek
Township, where he was born and raised. After reaching mans estate he spent
several years in the South, returned, married the girl he had courted before
going South, and settled down to an industrious, quiet life.
Several years ago he moved to Franklin County, where his family of boys might
enjoy better advantages, and where they lived since. Oliver spent some time
in this
county last fall. He had been in delicate health for some time and unable to
do much work.
Besides his widow, three sons and two daughters, he leaves a father, mother,
five brothers and three sisters.
He was buried near where he died.
(Oliver was reinterred in Siloam Cemetery)

(Someone has lined out three sons and written in five sons.)

b-1877; d-1932 I have no proof yet that this is Sarah B. Sipes.
**I know I have some old family information showing David Sipes middle name
as
Inskip, but I have managed to misplace it. Im still gathering death
certificates and other documentation, so will update this later.
***This is the spelling that was originally provided to me. I have seen her
referred to as Zelda
