Verna,

You need to look for a Will and Estate Papers for a McCRAY who died
before the 1850 Census. Using Polly as a guide, and the ages of the
last child, I would look for those papers during that timeframe. Also,
using the religion as a guide, I would write to those churches and ask
if the children were married in the church. Good Luck. meg
