David Core Clark was the son of William James Clark and Martha Ellen
Core; Martha Ellen Core was the daughter of John Core and Abigail
Ingraham. John Core was the son of my g-g-g-g grandfather, Christopher
Core, who moved with his parents to a home on Dunkard Creek before the
Revolution. John and Christopher Core and families are buried in the Mt.
Herman Cemetery between Core and Mooresville. The cemetery is lovingly
maintained by a man named Statler, who is also a descendant of the
earliest Dunkard Creek pioneers.

I just got a brand-new book today that has a photograph of Dr. David C.
Clark and his wife, plus a picture of his dentist's office in
Blacksville. The book is called "A Frame in Time: Dunkard Valley." It is
primarily about small villages (including Blacksville) in the Clay and
Battelle Districts of Monongalia Co., WV, but Blacksville genealogy is of
interest to people on both sides of the border. It does not have an
every-name index, so I can't do involved look-ups. Blacksville families
mentioned in the index are: Clark, Clovis, Evans, Johnson, Thomas, Lantz,
Scott, Stephens, Strosnider, and Worley. A partial listing of the photos
of buildings would include the Baptist Church, Methodist Church, Dunkard
Valley Bank, covered bridge on Robert's Run, Phillips Store, Peoples
Natural Gas Co., Strosnider Hotel, Boss Park's Gristmill, and various
antique photos taken around town. There are also group photos of high
school, elementary school, and Sunday School classes from bygone eras.
The book is primarily a photo book, but there is plenty of text to
describe the photos and the people in them. I'd be glad to clarify any
points if people are interested.
