Grant W. Hillberry, 93, of West Finley RD 2, died at 9:45 AM Sunday, Feb. 18, 1990, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
He was born August 10, 1896, in Majorsville, W. Va., a son of Walter and Anna Kimmey Hillberry.
Mr. Hillberry lived in Greene County since 1965 and before that resided in Setonsville, W. Va.
He was a Methodist and attended the Crabapple Community Church.
Mr. Hillberry was a farmer and worked as long as his health permitted.
He served as a private with Company F of the 11th Battalion, US Army, during World War I.
On March 17, 1921, he married Della Irene Ritchea Hillberry, who died February 18, 1990.
Surviving are four sons, Robert Keith Hillberry and Arthur F. Hillberry, both at home, Paul E. Hillberry and Grant W. Hillberry Jr., both of Elm Grove, W. Va.; five daughters. Mrs. Elmer “Mabel” Gray of Washington, Mrs. Robert “Freda” Daugherty of Calis, W. Va., Mrs. Albert “Dale” Rhome of Graysville RD 1, and Mrs. Donald “Caroline” Gray of Elm Grove; two sisters, Mary McKahan of Uniontown and Catherine Parkinson of Waynesburg; 38 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Mary Lou Lilley; eight brothers, Dutch, Odlon, Walter, Willy, John, Benjamin, Charles and Louie Hillberry; and five sisters, Mandy Hillberry, Rebecca Hillberry, Mary Hillberry, Lucy Hillberry and Catherine Hillberry.

Friends of Grant W. Hillberry of West Finley RD 2, who died Sunday, Feb. 18, 1990, will be received from 7-9 PM Monday and 2-4 and 7-9PM Tuesday in the Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, Feb. 21. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Marshall County, W. Va.
