Subject: Announcement of New Birth

Greetings, ALL:

I am proud to announce the birth of my 2nd granddaughter!!!! Emma Jean
Crouse entered this world on Monday, November 15, 2004 at 6:33 PM. She was
7 lbs 3 oz and 21 inches long. She was born in Washington PA Hospital.

Now then, please inspect your genealogical records carefully because her
ancestry is most interesting. Most children are fortunate to have just 3-4
grandparents living. Well, Emma, and her older sister Elizabeth Kathryn
Crouse (born August 26, 2001), have the unusual distinction of having so
many grandparents/ancestors STILL LIVING that it is even hard to count them
all!!!

I provide the list for you below with hopes that you enjoy researching.
There are step situations that lead to some confusion. And, unfortunately,
some of her ancestors will be uninvolved in her life. So, I take the
liberty of some explanations where I deem necessary.

You will find 5 generations in this list. Maybe some of these are links to
you and I? Please let me know!! I can be reached via <
>, but please patiently await any reply for a few
days.

A total count of all Emmas grandparents/ancestors still living, counting
all steps, and even those who are uninvolved, totals an amazing 17!!! Even
eliminating those who are uninvolved in her life, there are still a
surprising 12 who will lovingly enjoy Emma on a regular basis, contribute to
her development and carry on family memories.

Emmas PATERNAL ancestry:

Father Dale Laverne Crouse (1960-) of Old Concord, Morris Twp., Washington
Co., PA. He is the son of grandparents Thomas Crouse (1936-) and Ruth Ealy
Crouse (1935-) who also live in Old Concord.

Ruth Ealy Crouse is the daughter of greatgrandmother Eleanor Cain Ealy
Wilson. Eleanor Cain (1916-) was 1st married to Brinton Ealy who died in
1967. Her present husband is (step)greatgrandfather Thomas Wilson (1924-).
Tom and Eleanor Wilson live in East Finley Twp., Washington Co., PA. With
the death of Brinton Ealy so long ago, Tom Wilson became a logical
grandparent to his wifes family. He is the only greatgrandfather that the
youngest children in this family could have known. Calling him a step is
quite inappropriate, though he genealogically is. Eleanors grandchildren
call him Tom, but the greatgrandchildren call him Pappy Tom.

Emmas MATERNAL ancestry:

Mother Debra Debbie Jo Hughes Crouse (1973-) is the natural daughter of
grandfather Charles William Hughes (1951-) of Washington, PA and grandmother
Sonya Sinclair Hughes Marasco (1954-). But, the Hughes-Sinclair marriage
ended when Debbie was a small child in the 1970s. Contact between the
Hughes and Debbie gradually faded and ended. There is little-to-no contact
between parties now.

Yet, for record keeping purposes, Charles William Hughes is the son of
greatgrandfather Glenn Leroy Bub Hughes (1925-). Bub was first married to
Norma Jean Schoenberger Hughes who died in 1998. Bub has recently married
to Patricia Frazier McCrerey Hughes and they reside in Amwell Twp.,
Washington County, PA. This marriage is so recent that much of the family
has yet to even meet Pat or know about it!

Sonya Sinclair is presently married to (step)grandfather Floyd Marasco
(1953-) and they reside in East Finley Twp, near Claysville, Washington
County, PA. Sonyas marriage to Floyd came at a very early age for Debbie,
so he logically became the prime father to Debbie and thus a quite logical
grandparent to Debbies children. Floyds parents are both living, but are
not in the picture in any of his life.

Sonya Marasco is the daughter of greatgrandfather James Wesley Sinclair
(1936-) and greatgrandmother Lois Bell (Shaw) Sinclair (1935-) who reside in
Buffalo Twp., Washington County, PA.

James W. Sinclair is the son of Helen Knight Gilbert Sinclair (1912-). She
resides in Mifflin County, PA, age 92!! Here note a legitmate 5-generation
spread from Helen Sinclair to Emma Crouse.

I placed parentheses on Lois Bell as (Shaw) because Lois was raised in the
home of Raymond Franklin Shaw (1901-1979) and Jean Swart Shaw (1904-1991). >
this couple, I can trace Emmas ancestry extensively. In fact, for the
SWART name, I have published a book of the SWART ancestry and descendants
from one couple originating in Washington County, PA. If you are
interested, please reply to arrange for a copy. It contains about 400 pages
of about 8000 names. And, there is a separate section of about 110 pages of
just tree-diagrams of families that married into the SWARTS.

An excellent resource for us researchers!!

Lois Bell Sinclairs natural parents are Leonard Bell (1911-1998) and
Marguerite Cox Bell (1913-1936). Leonard Bell married 3 times and his 3rd
wife is living. Though this she presents another genealogical step
situation, Mildred Jones Bell (1930-) is a logical grandparent to many of
Leonards grandchildren who knew only her as his wife. Counting Millie
makes another 5-generation spread from Leonard Bell to Emma Crouse.

Finally, here is a side issue. Marguerite Cox Bell is also a descendant of
the same SWART family from which Jean Swart Shaw descended. So, Lois Bell
was born into the SWARTS naturally and then raised in the home of a near
SWART cousin.

THANKS!!! Enjoy -- Floyd
