Just an added note:
There is a William Wagoner (d; 1834 in Springfield Twp) that had a son George Wagoner (born 1814). This also relates to my earlier email - his son Abraham Waggoner (Wagoner) is my 3G Grandfather. William Wagoner and Mary ? had 9 children: Abraham (my line), Catherine, William (b: 1802), Ann (b: 1804), Mary (b: 1798), Christian (b: 1796), Hannah, George (b: 1814), and Sarah. At the time my 3G Grandfather was born, they were living in Clay Township, Huntingdon Co, PA. 1850 Census shows the following Waggoner's in Clay Twp: Abraham, Christian, and William. George is shown as Springfield Twp.
Sorry if this doesn't help but that is all the info I have.
Nancy

We are researching the Wagoner family from Huntingdon County, primarily from the Three Springs and Saltillo area of Clay Township.
Jesse Wagoner moved to Allegheny then Westmoreland County from Huntingdon County to work on the railroad. While he lived in Huntington County he was married and had a son, Charles William. His first wife died. He later married again in Allegheny County and had for more children, Edgar Franklin, George Wilbert, Earl Thompson, and Ethel Katherine. The only one left is George. He is 79 years old and does not remember many details.
We are trying to locate Jesse’s parents. We know his mother was called ‘Kate’ and there is strong evidence (not proof) that she was ‘Catherine Kough’. A handwritten note from Jesse’s second wife titled “The Samuel Kough Family” lists Catharine (that's how she spelled it) Kough with all her siblings and who they married. It records that 'Catharine married George Wagoner' (the ‘o’ in Wagoner has a line through it, we don’t know why since the family uses the ‘o’). Jesse’s second wife was in close contact with ‘Kate’ (Jesse’s mother) back in Huntingdon County and we can think of no other reason why she wrote up this list.
We do not know for sure the name of Jesse’s father. George is a possibility. According to oral history, the father was in the Civil War. While in the war he became ill with something (maybe TB?) and was ill for the rest of his life. If this were correct we would especially like to find him and honor his memory.
From memory, Jesse had two brothers, Austin and Wil (short for William or Wilbert?).
Jesse Wagoner was buried in Huntingdon County – possibly with his parents or his first wife. It is said the family was Baptist.
We will be visiting Huntingdon County on October 20 2002 for a few hours. We would like to visit the gravesites if at all possible.
Could you name and give the locations to cemeteries that would be the best bet to find family members.
