Here is Lawrence neal, and the only thing I know for certain about him
is that he was born in new York State. He, too, moved to Rose Township
in the mid-1800's.
Occupation: Farmer. The 1850 Census
<http://www.pa-roots.com/%7Ejefferson/census/1850cloverb.html> lists a
Lawrence Neal as living in Clover Township, 21 years old (?) and
laboring as a lumber worker, and living as a boarder in the home of one
Hiram Carrier. He raised his family on his 64-acre farm, likely as a
`homesteader`. The farm was located off of Route 36 between Brookville
and Summerville, PA. He died when one of his horses kicked him, breaking
his leg. He died 3 days later. Lawrence was `pulled` from the wheel for
the Civil war draft. He never served.
His father was born in Maryland, and his mother was born in Connecticut.
Maybe this person was a sister?
I was trying to think about why Lawrence neal would move to Rose
Township--he worked for Hiram Carrier in lumber. Was Hiram an Uncle?
