Sherry,
The CCC was the Civilian Conservation Corps.
This was one of the many of Pres. Roosevelt's (FDR's) programs
during the depression. I remember a lot of them in Penna.
Usually they used old army trucks, tents, etc and young
men were given jobs at the camps in what are now
state forests and parks. They built buildings, roads, trails,
etc. Mostly young men were in the CCC
One of the major areas in the fairly new Cuyahoga Valley
National Recreation Area here in the Cleveland area
utilizes old buildings from CCC Camps.
A similiar program was the WPA whihc had many facets:
construction, local parks, Many of the records we use
today are the result of collections done by WPA and similar
programs. There are some famous depression photography
collections done by them.
I think there are records on the CCC, but I don't know where.
