Your grandmother probably wrote what she heard. People in the area tend to
say it that way but what they mean is Forest City, just over the Lackawanna
County line from Carbondale, in Susquehanna County. Records for Forest City
are found in the county court house in Montrose, PA and also in the
Susquehanna County Historical Society housed in the Montrose Public Library.
