Hi, I was in Scranton/Dunmore last week and found the woman at the Register
of Wills to be very courteous and helpful. On the other hand once I left
that office I was doomed. I went to find Marriage License and was told that
I could not view these, they weren't there, etc. Rude.
The Historical Society was okay, but I had many things to find, not only for
my own research, but for another who helps me. The Historical Society did
answer the door rude, and would Not let me view anything of any importance
to anyone. Yet there were others who came and went like they were
privilege. I was and always will be in awe of things from the past, the
fact that the woman dropped census books on the table did not impress me at
all. They were/are fragile and should have been treated as such in my
opinion.
We tried going to find things at St. Mary's and feel as we were treated
badly too. Just wanted to add my 2 pennies. Patti
