According to various records, Olwen M. Howell (who married John Bowen
Evans ca 1905) was the dau of William G. Howell. But her obituary reads"
"Mrs. Evans was b. in Taylor and was the daughter of Squire Howell, a
leading citizen there for years." According to the Scranton PA Directory
for 1892, he is listed as music teacher, and his daughters Lydia M., Olwen
M., and Edith A. were at the same address. John B. and Olwen M. Evans
lived in Carbondale all their married life.
Do these names "ring a bell" with anyone? Thanks
