directions to the Finch cemetery on route 247 and is it anywhere near the
cemetery in Scott? Thanks a bunch-

Hello Lee Ann,
I'm currently writing from Vermont where I'm a school teacher in the
winter, but in the spring, summer, and fall I live in Montrose, Pa. and I've
been to the cemeteries you're referring to, I think. I don't have all my
genealogical material with me up here. The Scott Cemetery you mention might
be the one in "downtown" Montdale. There are numerous other graveyards in
the area. I don't have a road atlas with me right now, so I'm unsure about
route and exit numbers, but you'd basically jump on Rt. 81 and head south to
the Scott exit, take a left off of the ramp and head to Montdale. At the
blinking light there turn right and the cemetery is on your right about a
half mile down the road.
The Finch cemetery is another matter. Could it possibly be the Finn
graveyard? I stumbled upon that after wandering around the fields and
woods down there on two separate days. It's a tiny family plot that is
tucked up on a hill behind the current northbound rest stop on Rt. 81 down
in northern Greenfield Twp. I accessed it from a dirt road on the backside
of that hill. There are just a handfull of readable tombstones there. Who
are you looking for? I found my Irene HOWARD who had been married to a
Charles SMITH whose family was originally from the Kingstown, Rhode Island
area. This probably isn't much help, but sometimes every little bit of
information helps.
